NOX is a wall sconce built on a long metal arm with a cone-shaped shade at the end. The arm carries the light away from the wall, which is what makes it useful beside a bed.
A cone throws light down and forward rather than out, so it reads as a reading light at close range and as low light in a living room from further off. In a hallway or a study it does the accent work instead.
The finishes are matte throughout, which keeps a shape this expressive from tipping over into something showy.
