AXIL began as a familiar shape — the sort of wall light that has hung in Polish houses for years — and had its lines straightened. What comes out reads as modern without having cut its ties to what it came from.

The light is directed but not hard: a beam with enough diffusion in it to warm a room rather than cut across it. That is a useful compromise almost anywhere in a house.
